National Mall and Memorial Parks
Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool - Washington D.C.
Covering over a thousand acres of greenspace from the United States Capitol to the Potomac River, the National Mall has existed for over two hundred years and is home to some of the Nation’s most iconic memorials.
You could easily need a week to visit the The National Mall and still not see everything. We had 4 days and change and crammed in as much as we could possibly see!
We stopped at each of the most well known memorials dispersed around the Mall. Some of our stops were regretfully short and we hope to one day revisit to better see them in depth.
Our Memorial Stops
Other specific memorials we stopped at both on and off the mall are the District of Columbia War Memorial and the World War 1 Memorial.
Visiting these memorials and reflecting on the millions of lives lost over the course of American History provides quiet introspection and a place where you can pay your respects to the silent heroes of a bygone era.
To all our military past and present, thank you for your sacrifice.
