Korean War Veterans Memorial

Korean War Veterans Memorial - Washington D.C.

Situated on the west end of the National Mall near the Lincoln Memorial, the 2+ acre Korean War Veterans Memorial was dedicated in 1995 and was rededicated in 2022. In addition to the memorial’s Honor Roll kiosk located at the west entrance - a computerized feature containing detailed information on service members of the Korean War, the memorial is comprised of multiple distinct features.

The Pool of Remembrance includes shaded benches for quiet reflection.

The United Nations Curb acknowledges the 22 nations that worked collectively during the war.

Nineteen stainless steel figures in The Field of Service create perhaps the most memorable feature of the memorial. Statues are an estimated 7 feet tall and represent members of America’s Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines.

The Mural Wall of black granite extends 164 feet and features more than 2,400 images of service members. From a distance, their arrangement mimics Korean mountain Ranges.

The Wall of Remembrance circle is the newest feature of the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Completed in 2022, one hundred panels acknowledge more than 43,000 combined American and Korean service members who died in the Korean War.
