New Hampshire
New Hampshire is a strong contender for permanent relocation. We fell in love with the Granite State in 2019 and wanted the chance to experience a New England winter to see if we could survive it.
I’m sure the data is skewed a bit since we didn’t ride out the entire winter in NH, but we had a blast trying various winter sports in the state we’re so crazy about. And it’s still high on the list of contenders!
Our rental couldn’t have been better! We made sure to get a property where the roads would be cared for during snows and we lucked out getting the perfect condo.
Our hosts were equally amazing. Nick and Sandy made sure we had everything we needed - included a Christmas Tree for the season!
We spent 7 weeks in the Conway area recuperating from Leg 26 and trying different winter sports to see which we liked best. The only thing we didn’t get to tick off our list was snowmobiling. But we did discover first hand hand that New Hampshirites do indeed know how to prepare for and take care of streets in winter weather! We don’t have that in the south!
THE LOCAL GRUB
Long Horn Nachos
Dropped into Moat Mountain Smoke House and Brewing in North Conway after a hike. I still dream about these brisker nachos! Excellent!
Twin Thai Coconut Chicken Tacos
Occasionally we stumble upon a yummy nugget! There’s a reason Barley & Salt Tap House and Kitchen in North Conway has made it on Diners, Drive-In’s, and Dives!
We hit Almost There in Albany NH twice and ordered the same thing because it was that good the first time around. Didn’t disappoint on the 2nd try either!
Burger & Sweet Potato Fries
scenes from the leg!
