Wildcat Mountain

Wildcat Mountain - Jackson NH

Wildcat Mountain Ski Resort is located in New Hampshire’s Pinkham Notch and averages 200 inches of natural snow a year. The resort sits in the shadow of Mount Washington and offers ski and snowboard trails for all levels.

There are a number of ski resorts in New Hampshire, and we’re sure any of them would have sufficed. Wildcat just happed to have enough snow and was open for the season when we booked our first ever skiing lessons. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience - it was great!

We signed up for group lessons and rented gear from the resort. It was a Wednesday at the start of the season, so we were the only people in the group.

Adam instructed us until lunch. He was still free after we ate, so we extended our “group” lesson into the afternoon. Lee progressed faster, and another instructor looking to keep busy paired off with him resulting in both of us having our own instructors for the afternoon.

I never made it up the lift day one, but we both loved the experience and booked private lessons the following week requesting Adam. By the end of our second lesson we were were on our own on the easy Wild Kitten trail.

We booked a third lesson the following week to practice our new found skills, but illness caused us to cancel. Wild Cat was super accommodating and gave us a refund. Not sure if that’s typical practice of ski resorts, but it did make us vow to lean Wildcat’s way on future skiing adventures in New Hampshire.
