Maine
A repeat for us but one of our favorite states to explore, we spent leg 23 in the pretty Pine Tree State - Maine! Having been to Maine in 2019 and knowing its high on our list of possible relocations, this visit allowed us to explore a couple different cities and take the opportunity to venture more into the wild.
We could say a lot about our Maine rental, the most pertinent would be that we were punked on this one.
The best thing this rental had going for it was the mostly private deck perfect for morning coffee.
Short leg - so we decided no to be babies about it, sucked it up and powered through. But wouldn’t rent this one again.
We spent 2 weeks with Bangor as our homebase burning most of our free time hiking, camping, and exploring Acadia National Park. And in the running theme of Backpacks & Bumpers, sweltering in the heat!
THE LOCAL GRUB
Biscuits & Gravy
Hoppin’ location in Hampden, the Coffee Break Cafe is casual and quick while offering an excellent selection of real southern style breakfast options. Convinced this is the key to their popularity!
Connecticut Lobster Roll & Brisket Sandwich
One of our favorites in all of Maine, we had a phenomenal lunch stop Smokey’s BBQ & Lobster Pound in Trenton!
We know- we know, Connecticut Lobster Rolls are sacrilege for some people… but they’re a blessing for those with egg allergies.
Route 66 Restaurant in Bar Harbor carries a smorgasbord of choices. When in Rome… as the saying goes… So when in Maine eat all the lobster you can in every way you can!
Lobster Mac & Cheese
