Eld Inlet
Eld Inlet - Olympia WA
The calm waters of Eld Inlet in south Puget Sound make it the perfect habitat for growing what has been recognized as some of the world’s richest oysters. Those same calm waters - combined with picturesque forested shoreline - create the perfect spot for paddlers. Access to Eld can be found near Mud Bay Bridge on the south end and Frye Cove Country Park to the north. Formal launch point can be found on surrounding inlets.
We were lucky enough that our rental was located on the inlet and had immediate access. Plus our hosts provided necessary equipment to enjoy the inlet at our leisure.
Though the inlet is most popular with sea kayakers, we spent our time on the water canoeing and tried our first hand at paddle boarding.
Nothing motivates you stay on your board like swarms of jellyfish!
