Ellis Island
Ellis Island - New York NY
Between 1892 and 1924, Ellis Island served as the principal gateway to American welcoming millions of immigrants.
Today, the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration preserves this history and shares the experiences of immigrants an arrival, from walking into the Great Hall to the rooms of every step of the inspection process.
This was so phenomenal. Ellis Island is rich in immigrant history and so much more than I expected it to be. We arrived on the first ferry from New Jersey and were the first ferry of the day to Ellis Island.
We grabbed an audio tour headset and proceeded to spend the next three hours exploring. We could’ve spent the entire day here. But our next stop was the Statue of Liberty, and we had a schedule to keep!
