South Carolina
Leg 3 took us from Brian Head to Blanding where we discovered southeastern Utah is just as spectacular as Zion’s corner, only a little less green. Making a last minute tweak to our travel plans, we took the scenic route across the state to ensure a stop at Capitol Reef National Park. The vast stretches of wilderness along southern Utah are punctuated with beautiful buttes, spires, and plateaus making the experience captivating.
Campsite #3 at River Bottom Farms Family Campground is one of the best sites in the park. Quiet and peaceful the duration of our stay, we had excellent unobstructed views of the ponds.
There are half a dozen cats roaming the park, but the resident geese came to visit us every morning anyway. Noisy but cute!

Errand day in Columbia led us to British Bulldog Pub and it’s great selection of English style fare. Lee enjoyed this patty melt with a ???

We attempted a BBQ joint in Orangeburg that was utterly disappointing. On the hunt for anything better, we wound up at Pedro’s Mexican in Swansea. Thank goodness it was good!
