Greater Austin

Things are changing! Day 708 of this wild ride and we’ve finally come full circle crossing back into the big state of Texas. Leg 31 is all about getting things in line for the next chapter of our adventure. Since we’re crazy, we have multiple storage units. It’s time to tidy some things up in prep for our shift to fulltime RVing!

Our rental was a simple neighborhood rental with no bells and whistles but plenty of space for us to sort through the mountain of boxes waiting for our return.

We had 4 weeks booked in the Greater Austin area and spent Leg 31 junk-sorting through what we couldn’t part with when we hit the road in late spring 2021.

Sorting, selling, donating, trashing, and repacking all while working for a living. Toss in physician check-ins and truck shopping, plus squeezing in a couple of fun days at the end, and you could say we were hustling this leg.

But in shifting news, we’ve ordered a truck! One step closer!

THE LOCAL GRUB

Steak Fajitas

One of our favorites anywhere in the country. We enjoy Lupe Tortilla Cedar Park so much, we stopped here 3 times this leg. Good food. Great margaritas. Perfection!

The promise of delicious Cajun cuisine drew us to Mouton’s Bistro when we first moved to the Greater Austin area in 2017. It instantly became one of regular stops!

Cajun Shrimp & Grits

Serving a mix of both Latin and Tex-Mex dishes, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine is one of the best restaurants in the Domain. And their Sangria Margarita will knock your socks off!
