Cedar Breaks National Monument

Point Supreme Viewpoint - Brian Head UT

The geological amphitheater of Cedar Breaks National Monument sits at around 10,000’ above sea level, is 1/2 a mile deep, and is gorgeous to behold! We had plans to hike trails in the area, but the trails were closed the weeks of our May 2021 visit and we missed out on exploring the wonder by foot. Instead, we had to settle for a bird’s-eye view at scenic overlooks to admire the hoodoos and pines of Cedar Breaks. Sustained winds of 30mph and gusts over 60 were whipping through the area the day of our visit. It was nuts trying to hang onto our phones for pictures but a fun experience. Looking forward to revisiting in the future when we can hike - or even snowshoe!

Helpful nuggets we learned:

  • Cedar Breaks National Monument falls under the National Parks System and charges a fee.

  • Interagency Passes are accepted.
