Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend - Page AZ

Surprise! Horseshoe Bend has long been on our list of places to see, but we didn’t know we would be driving right by it on the way out of Arizona. Drove right by the sign, noticed what we were missing, and hooked a 180 at the roundabout in Page. Couple of lessons learned this day. 1) Check the route on travel day and 2) Keep hiking shoes within reach!

Helpful nuggets we learned:

  • Horseshoe Bend is controlled by the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and charges a fee to enter.

  • The Interagency National Parks Pass IS NOT ACCEPTED for parking. Horseshoe bend itself is within the park - but the city of Page owns the parking lot. Parking Fees

  • Horseshoe Bend Trail (to the overlook) access is located on the back side of the parking lot - not the side.

  • From the parking lot to the overlook it’s 3/4 of a mile with two shade awnings between points. Sunscreen + sunglasses + hat + water!

  • Trail is well groomed with a slight downhill grade to the overlook.

  • Restroom facilities located at parking lot.
