Christmas at Gaylord Opryland
Garden Conservatory - Gaylord Opryland TN
To get into the Christmas spirit, we took an evening and headed over to Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center… that’s a mouthful. The locals just call it the Opry Hotel which is probably why I wasn’t expecting a tiny city. Of course, it’s beautiful. A grand entrance lobby containing a ridiculously massive staircase. Multiple atriums. A plethora of shops. Plenty of dinning. A conservatory. A few waterfalls. An indoor river. You know… your basic hotel needs. The resort covers numerous acres and is reminiscent of the mega casinos of Vegas, only without the gaming floor.
Christmas at Gaylord Opryland spans from early November through the turn of the new year. There are a number of holiday activities to keep people entertained. Ice-skating. Ice-tubing. Gingerbread decorating. Saw a few reindeer on site with my own two eyes. And of course – Santa, who busted me trying to covertly sneak a snap.
There are a number of dining options throughout the resort. From a sushi bar, to a cantina, a pizza joint, and lots of burgers, there’s something for every speed. We chose to experience a little bit of Tennessee at Jack Daniels. We tried to get a table around 5pm and there was an hour wait. So, we scooted across the hall to Fuse Sports Bar for cocktails while we waited. We enjoyed our drinks, but the dinner at Jack’s was worth the wait. Perfectly cooked chop with southern greens and a little ice-cream indulgence to finish out the meal. Couldn’t have asked for better!
