Trail Creek Tavern Museum
Logging Equipment - Trail OR
Dedicated to the history of southern Oregon pioneers, the Trail Creek Tavern Museum located on Old Highway 62 in Trail, OR is quaint and unassuming - yet rich in logging and mining history. Stumbling across this gem by accident after taking a wrong turn, we were intrigued enough to drop in and see what it was all about.
The tavern that once served the early pioneers now houses a number of quirky exhibits from the good ol’ days. Barstools and a bar top greeted us as we walked in the door; and the proprietor - Russ - sat chatting up the afternoon with a curmudgeonly looking ol’ fellow (a description used admiringly) that we’d come to find out is an old fur trapper named Jack.
Russ became our tour guide as we walked through a museum full of artifacts, photos, and memorabilia. He was quick to share on objects we found interesting to us and even accompanied us as we strolled the 3acre display of old logging equipment.
There is no cost to tour the Trail Creek Tavern Museum but donations are accepted. Operating hours are 10-4 every weekend of the year and late week days from spring to early autumn.
