Mountain Creek Loop

There are approximately 10 miles of multiuse family-friendly trails snaking through Callaway Resort & Gardens. Cyclists can bring their own bikes or rent one near Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center at Mountain Creek Lake. The gently rolling paved path is a great way to explore much of property on two wheels.
We skipped bringing our own bikes this go around in favor of checking out the quality of equipment the resort offers. We opted to explore Mountain Creek Lake Loop to escape busier areas of the property.
The trail was nicely shaded and had a good variety of hills and beautiful views.
Signage leaves something to be desired. There are multiple access points to the trail from the resort’s many attractions and we repeatedly had to stop to distinguish which direction was an offshoot and which direction was the trail.
Regulars to Callaway likely have no problems. First time for us, and several groups we passed along the route also had their maps out trying to figure out what was going on.
Good trail. Just needs some tweaks.
