Great morning hike for the person with realistic expectations of what a valley in the Smoky Mountains has to offer.
Overcast day, in the 50s. Trail is rocky in bits, rooty in bits, and after a week of rain, slick and slippery where there’s leaf fall. Good variety of inclines and declines. Nothing drastic, but a good workout.
Cabin is still closed for repairs.
Limited parking at the roadside trailhead. Accommodates 3 to 4 cars max.
No facilities.
