Shoshone Falls
Shoshone Falls - Twin Falls ID
On the advice of the Twin Falls Visitor Center staff, we drove to see the highly recommended Shoshone Falls. We’d also read it’s often referred to as the Niagara of the west, and who wouldn’t want to see that? Due to drought, the water flow on our visit was extremely low, but the falls as we saw them were still worth seeing. With height greater than Niagara Falls, Shoshone Falls likely puts on a fantastic show when variables for better flow are more favorable.
Shoshone Falls Park sits directly adjacent to Dierkes Lake Park and our $5 entrance fee covered both locations. Shoshone provides viewpoints for the falls, interpretive signs covering the history of the area, a snack shop, a gift shop, and a few picnic areas. Dierkes Lake has a swimming area, opportunities for fishing and kayaking, and shady spots for picnics.
