Ginnie Springs
Ginnie Springs - High Springs FL
Reportedly one of the best freshwater dive sites in the world, the crystal clear waters of Ginnie Springs maintains a constant 72° and is a popular destination for travelers and locals alike. Privately owned and located on the south side of the Santa Fe River, the park offers camping sites and rentals for kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, tubes, and snorkel gear.
This place is ridiculously cool. Such a fun day on the water with family. We rented tubes spent the day floating. Very cool watching the waters of the spring shift from tea colored to a stunning crystal blue.
In retrospect, Lee and I should’ve rented a tube and a paddle board and swapped for our second pass down the river. Still, we had a blast. Float times vary on water flow. A non-stop trip down the river the day of our visit took just over an hour. For out second pass, we found a nook in the river to hang out.
As cool as this place is, it should be noted that this is a popular spot for college kids and alcohol is allowed in the park. Families with little kids looking for a family vibe should consider nearby Blue Spring State Park.
