Enchanted Woods - Pennsbury Township DE
Located in the Brandywine Valley of northern Delaware, the thousand-acre historic estate of Winterthur contains a 175-room mansion of the American horticulturist and collector Henry Francis Dupont along with a 60-acres garden and the charming fairy-tale garden of Enchanted Woods.
Beautiful place! The Wine through Winterthur event and the estate’s Enchanted Woods brought us to Winterthur, the mansion was an unexpected bonus.
It was also another classic case of underestimation. We toured the mansion and saw part of the gardens during our wine tour, but didn’t realize how much other stuff there was to see!
Thankfully, passes were for two days..
