Super cool trail that makes you feel like you’re on another planet. And the addition of a rope ladder is a cool feature. Doable unless you’re scared of heights.
A park ranger at the visitor center told us this trail gets more emergency calls than any other in Badlands National Park. Seemed true enough since we passed EMT’s working to get to the top of the ladder to fetch a downed hiker.
Hike early to beat the heat - even in October.
