Presidential Loop isn’t very long, and it’s rated moderate based on the number of stairs along the way. There’s nothing technical about it except for stair navigation. And it wasn’t crowded the day of our visit, but the size of the boardwalk and platforms allows for large crowds.
The trail puts you closer to the monument and gives a different perspective of the carvings. Interpretive signs at set point gives history and facts on whichever president your view is best of.
The trail also passes the Sculptures Studio, but it should be noted the studio closes Mid-October until late May. Or in our case — since our visit was Oct 2 — just all of October.
