Champagne Falls Trail
Custer Gallatin National Forest

7.1 mile out & back - 1050 elev gain - moderate
Beautifully shaded forest trail running along Hyalite Creek with short side bits to a few falls big and small. Not too difficult. We made it to Champagne Falls but the trail extends an additional 4 miles up to Hyalite Peak.
Markings for falls aren’t super clear, but we had family who’d hiked the trail before and led the way.
Water shoes are a plus if you want to get close to Champagne Falls.
Maybe next time we’ll make it to the peak.
