Showboat Branson Belle

Showboat Branson Belle - Branson MO

Modeled after the historic paddle boats of the 1800’s, the Showboat Branson Belle is one of the biggest attractions on the lakes of the Ozarks. Lunch and dinner cruises are paired with lively song-and-dance performances in the dining theater with a variety of themed cruises offered throughout the year.

Outside the ship are 2 twin paddle wheels, smoke stacks towering 112 ft over the clear waters of Table Rock Lake, and 4 decks for passengers to enjoy panoramic views while experiencing the pastime of a bygone era.

This was our first paddleboat adventure and it turned out to be decent experience. It was late October and autumn colors were just beginning at the landing and surrounding the lake. The weather was cool and the views on the water were pretty.

We booked a lunch cruise and splurged on the Captains Club level meal. This option gave us the choice steak instead of chicken or roast; and also allowed us more space in our dining area instead of elbow to elbow banquet style seating. The entrées were good, but deserts and coffee were better.

The show was entertaining. Lots of singing. Lots of dancing. A little bit of cheesy comedy. And intermission mid-way gave us a chance to explore the boat and see the lake.

Overall, the Showboat Branson Belle just ok and consequently is a one-and-done for us.

We’re glad to have had the experience, but things could be tweaked to make this a better attraction. The water and the riverboat were exceptional, but it would have been enjoyable to have a cocktail on deck while watching the paddlewheel and seeing the views go by. Extra time on the water would be nice. And it’s also worth noting that shows (at least our show) seem to be geared towards older generations. Altogether, it’s worth doing as bucket list tick if you’re in the Ozarks.
