Snorkeling Sands Key
Spotted Sea Snare - Biscayne Bay FL
After kayaking around Sands Key on our Sail, Paddle, Snorkel, and Island Visit tour with Biscayne National Park Institute we were excited to get under the water and see what awaits!
One of the coolest aspects of this snorkel was the opportunity to get in among the mangrove roots and see hundreds of fish staring back at us. The variety hiding in the roots is vast and the schools of tiny fish brave enough to swim by were large.
I get a kick out of spotting the most unique life is snorkel spots. Here at Sands Key, the most unique creatures we came across were a spotted sea snare (pictured above) and a Spaghetti worm.
