Jacksonville

Jax Beach - Jacksonville FL

Didn’t spend long in Jacksonville! Drove over to hang out with Shelly and spent the day knocking around the area.

An early morning start across I-295 east gave us a gorgeous sunrise - even if it was in our face.

Met our date at the Maple Street Biscuit Company on HWY A1A. Breakfast was delicious and the we were amused by the fact they identify your order with your favorite song instead of your name. That was kinda quirky!

To walk off breakfast we spent the rest of the morning hiking Guana River Loop. I had read that there were research towers on this route, but we didn’t come across any. We later learned there are two areas of the Wildlife Management Area and we may have taken the wrong trail. Still fun to explore. The hog wallows were particularly neat.

After our hike, of course we had to eat again!

We decided on TacoLu and loved the street tacos.

We split from our date and wandered a little bit of Jax Beach and hit the typical beach souvenir shops. Had we thought about it, maybe we would have explored the pier, but I was so focused on the beach I never even thought about the pier!

Before we left Jacksonville, we met back up with Shelly and company at Dick’s Wings and Grill San Pablo. Laid back restaurant with an easy atmosphere. We did a lot of eating in Jacksonville. Guess it’s a good thing we went on a hike!
