Ontario Beach Park
Ontario Beach Park - Rochester NY
On the shore of Lake Ontario, the 39 acre Ontario Beach Park includes Charlotte Pier, the Rochester Harbor Lighthouse natural beaches, six volleyball nets, numerous picnic spots, a playground, basketball courts, and an antique carousel.
Really neat spot. We came to the park specifically to see the lighthouse and were surprised to find so much more going on. We’ve never swam in a Great Lake so can’t relate to the experience, but this park has a lot to offer for a beautiful day on the lake.
Two things struck us in particular. The amount of shade. And, the carpet of grass beneath the trees. The tress are large and beautiful with plenty of grassy shade underneath. It really is a gem.
After walking the grounds and visiting the Rochester Harbor Lighthouse - which is really just a pier light - we made a stop at the Dentzel Menagerie Carousel. It’s magnificent!
